Kogi-East Political Office Holders pledge to rebuild abandoned Igala Hall

Political office holders and appointees Of Kogi state government from the eastern flank of the state have pledged to rebuild the abandoned Igala Hall in Anyigba.

This, according to the appointees led by Hon.Edward Onoja, represents their “commitment to enhancing efforts towards the cultural identity of the people of Eastern Senatorial District of the State.”

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja made the pledge during the inauguration ceremony of the new  executive council members of the Igala Cultural Development Association, held in Anyigba on 27th of December 2017.

Hon Onoja, who was represented at the occasion by the newly elected provost, Chief Simeon Ujah, praised the body for their unalloyed commitment towards the preservation of the Igala Culture and transmission to the younger generation.

This kind gesture from the Chief of staff to the governor was received as cheering news by all present at the occasion.

“The government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is committed to encouraging the people of the state towards expressing their cultural identity and harmonious relationship within and among them” he said.

The efforts towards rebuilding the Igala hall project which Hon Onoja promised was going to be borne by himself, appointees of kogi East extraction,and support by the state Governor,His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello,was geared towards providing a befitting edifice for the entire Igala people.

While calling for continuous support of the people towards the programmes of the New Direction Blueprint of Gov Yahaya Bello, Onoja reiterated  the governor’s intention is to see to the overall transformation of the state.

As a follow-up to the pledge, a building engineering firm has been mandated to liaise with the ICDA Exco, for on-site assessment and costing for the project.

In response, the New ICDA Exco led by Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Amodu appreciated Edward Onoja and his colleagues for identifying with the masses of the Igala people through the proposed reconstruction of the hall.
